Auntie Ghita

The most important community leader is Auntie Ghita, the widowed matriarch of the Trimboli family. The Trimboli family runs a tavern called The Goat's Head Tavern , which is the most popular community meeting place in The Bottoms.

Ghita has no children of her own, but is everybody’s auntie. She makes certain that the children all eat, and have a safe place to sleep, and never tolerates drunken brawls in her tavern, with the help of several burly nephews. Her biggest flaw is that in any dispute between one of her actual family and an outsider, she will always take the side of her kin, regardless of who is right. This causes some friction, since she has a ne’er-do-well nephew with sticky fingers, who is a mean drunk.
