The Ward Captain for The Bottoms is Diego Amato, a handsome, well spoken man in his 30s with dark skin, hair and eyes. He is widely known to be the bastard son of an eques (or knight), but it is not known who that is except perhaps by Diego, who will not discuss it. This status has brought him a certain celebrity.
Diego is known as an honorable, intelligent, man, knowledgeable about this ward, and equally at ease among the social elites of the city. He maintains a home in The Bottoms that is among the larger and more comfortable of the area.
