Gratilius Sorna

The Legatus of Legio VI Ferrata, stationed in Pumpossa (or, rather, just outside it in a permanent Legion camp). Gratilius Sorna is considered something of a soldier's soldier. While he certainly has the noble pedigree for the position, his father being a prominent Senator, he served as Tribune in Legio III for several years, and earned a reputation for leading from the front, and for using his forces wisely (and profitably), and bringing back nearly as many as he set out with.

Gratilius is in his 50s, and has held his current post for 10 years, a very long time for a Legatus. He spends most of his time seeing to the business of his Legion, which consists mostly of patrolling Actina, especially the lower mountains, which are rife with bandits. He scrupulously avoids city politics, and politics in general, but is known to be a close friend of the Governor. He is also known for his bulldog loyalty to the empire.
