Gold & SilverSmith's Guild

The Gold & Silversmith's Guild also includes other metalworkers, including tin, copper, and lead (but not iron, which is the domain of the Armorer's Guild). The Gold and Silver smiths, however, have greater wealth, and close, personal connections to the wealthy of the city. As such, they largely run the Guild, but those who work in the lesser metals greatly outnumber (and outvote) them, leading to a certain friction within the Guild.

The current Guildmaster is Marcelus Opilia, a middle aged man known for his lazy, insulting manner towards anyone he considers inferior (which is pretty much everyone except the Governor and the Legate of Legio VI, Gratilius Sorna). He is average height, somewhat overweight, ill-kempt, hunchbacked and speaks with a lisp due to his buck-teeth. While he is an accomplished goldsmith, he is ill-liked by his members because of his high-handed attitude and petty, malicious handling of any kind of dispute. Marcelus usually attends Curia meetings himself, and fiercely opposes anything that will negatively affect his Guild.
